Time and Space is devoted to audio and video content.
Getting my hands on a mirrorless digital camera was great, and being able to use all of the camera’s features really allowed me to create video content that would have been challenging with traditional film making equipment and techniques. In this case, I was able to exploit the burst feature of the camera and create a macro composition by using extension tubes to shoot the first video. The following video is a scanned 8mm film strip. Individual frames were converted to video to create a film loop. While the results were good, this was a labor of love. I’m working on a way to streamline the process.
Getting the first generation iPhone and adding audio recording apps allowed me to document experiences that I would not have been able to reasonably capture otherwise. Not to mention saving my pant pockets from getting torn from heavier and more bulky equipment. I was free to discretely make field recordings with ease. Something we may take for granted these days.
